Many Different Types of T-Shirts
♫ Saturday, February 19th, 2011There are so many different types of t-shirts available, today; it’s sometimes hard to keep track of the newest trends. The following descriptions are just a few of the most currently sought after choices.
What is important to remember about this category of t-shirt is the term ‘vintage’ means different things to different people. What might be considered vintage to some can easily be viewed differently by others.
TV junkies unite! There has been a recent resurgence of the TV related t-shirt. It’s never been easier to promote a well-know TV series or personality as it is today. Star Trek, Sanford and Son, Seinfeld, MASH, The Simpsons, Three Stooges, I Love Lucy, Brady Bunch, Mister Rogers and Beverly Hills 90210 are all prime examples of television shows that have found themselves on the front of a t-shirt.
Custom t-shirts are an excellent promotional tool that is an affordable option, for almost every size business or event. Two examples of custom t-shirts are family or class reunion shirts and those promoting an annual fundraising event such as a March of Dimes walk for children.
Music t-shirts will always be sought after by all kinds of music lovers. It was during the 60′s that several popular rock groups started selling shirts (depicting the band) to their fans, who couldn’t seem to get enough. It was an added revenue source that was un-thought of, prior to that period.
Souvenir t-shirts are desirable to both die-hard and occasional travelers, alike. Many travelers make it a habit to purchase a shirt in every town they visit. Some of these same travelers go so far as to have a quilt made with these shirts, as a special way of remembering their favorite vacations.
Cartoon and comic related t-shirts bring out the kid in people of all ages. One of the first extremely popular licensed t-shirts was that of Mickey Mouse, now a t-shirt classic. Some of the most well-know characters in this category include: Betty Boop, Popeye, Charlie Brown and Snoopy, the Smurfs, Barbie, Alice in Wonderland, Curious George, various Dr Seuss characters and Hello Kitty.
Presidential and political related t-shirts have been around for decades. In fact, John F. Kennedy used them as a promotional tool, during his successful campaign. Many notable presidential museums carry a small line of at least two or three t-shirts depicting that specific man.
Sports t-shirts have been on the scene for decades, as well. There are appropriate shirts for golfers, hunters, baseball fanatics, football junkies, race fans… the list goes on and on. Shirts are available for sports enthusiasts of all ages, from newborns on up. It’s never too early to start rooting for the winning (or losing) team.
