2010 has been an interesting year for fashion. This is the year where the press criticized celebrity baby Suri Cruise for wearing expensive designer kid’s clothing. This is the year where designer brands began to actively produce clothes for children-as there seems to be a market for expensive kid’s clothing. This is the year where children and adults alike explored the potentials of fashion from another culture-with Japanese and Korean fashion being in the forefront of the kid’s clothing and adult clothing fashion trends. And the year has not even ended!

So what can people expect for the year 2011? It’s not too early to tell: after all, designers and clothing companies release their clothing lines early. The likes of Ducci and even lesser known brands such as Ouef Eco have already shown their 2011 designs, among many others. What prominent trends can be seen from these early kid’s clothing releases?

Perhaps the most prominent trend to surge for the year 2011 is the theme of practical luxury or elegance for kid’s clothing. Again, this is a trend that probably stemmed from the “Suri Cruise effect,” wherein children want to wear designer clothes and parents want to dress their children in design brands. However, the clothing companies are gunning for something appropriate for kids despite its designer-luxury trappings. These designer kid’s clothing items will be comfortable and will steer away from styles that are inappropriate for the toddler and pre-teen set.

Of course, don’t expect these “practical luxuries” to be practically priced.

The eco-conscious theme will also become prominent in 2011, sipping its way from the adult runway to the kid’s clothing industry. Expect kid’s clothing pieces made from highly sustainable materials such as bamboo, organic cotton, and other similar fabrics. In short: frivolous is out, environmental trends are in.

Fashion pundits are already proclaiming the year 2011 as the year when the 80s rocker look returns. Expect this influence to become apparent in kid’s clothing-or at least in teen and pre-teen clothing. Don’t expect kid’s clothing to incorporate the leather and the highly sexualized look of 80s rock, although many will see the disgruntled, mixed and matched styles that the 80s made popular.

Because of this, Japanese-inspired kid’s clothing will become a bigger hit in 2011. This fashion aesthetic somewhat adheres to the concept of 80s fashion-clothes and accessories that shouldn’t match but go well together anyway, the somewhat mature Victorian-inspired dresses, the exotic Lolita-styled dresses made innocent and child-like (and therefore safe yet cute).

For girl’s fashion, expect dresses with flowing fabrics. This trend, which is more apparent in countries such as Australia and United Kingdom, is likely to be incorporated in kid’s clothing-a far cry from the current trend of flesh showing for women’s fashion. What not to expect in kid’s clothing in 2011: velvet. Many fashion journalists are already seeing velvet as a major material in some of the biggest designs for next year-but it’s unlikely that this material will enter the kid’s clothing scene.

It goes without saying that the year 2011 is still several months away-anything can happen in the world of kid’s clothing.

The children’s clothing industry was growing in popularity, more and more fashion designers decided to focus their work exclusively on designing clothes for young children and babies. Soon, the offer became more and more diversified, children’s clothes gaining a lot in aspect and originality. Supermarkets and clothing stores began to fill up with ingenious and colorful clothing articles for children, lots of shops even specializing in exclusively selling children’s clothes. In contrast to yesterday’s children’s clothes – poorly designed and, let’s face it, quite dull – today’s children’s clothes are ingenious and appealing, stimulating their imagination and building their sense of aesthetics and beauty. Ranging from little boys’ suits and little girls’ accessorized dresses to cartoon-character costumes and even superhero outfits, children’s clothes are nowadays created to adequately satisfy the needs and desires of the very young.

Visibly enjoying “the attention” granted to them by the fashion industry, lots of children nowadays spend more and more time looking for the most interesting and imaginative clothing items they can find. Mesmerized by so many clothing models, designs and colors, many children can hardly decide upon a single item in particular! As soon as they step inside children’s clothing stores, children are immersed in a colorful and magnificent world, similar to the world created by toy stores. Funnily, lots of today’s children equally enjoy paying visits to both children’s clothing stores and toy stores – fact that reveals the young generations’ interest towards clothes, and thus their inclination towards originality, aesthetics and sense of beauty.

Seen through the perspective of their prices in general, children’s clothes have lately become increasingly more affordable. While a few years ago parents had to spend a small fortune to offer their children good-quality articles of clothing, nowadays they can buy appropriate clothes for considerably smaller sums of money. Several major factors that have led to the reduction of children’s clothing prices are: substantial clothes imports, the appearance of many discount-shops on the market and the equal distribution of the merchandise between supermarkets and clothing stores.

Online stores have also had a great contribution to the depreciation of children’s clothing prices, offering customers high-quality yet cheaper clothing articles. Children’s clothing online stores have become very popular, as they provide customers with cost-effective alternatives to similar, shop-purchased products. Online stores offer clients the possibility to choose among hundreds of different clothing items such as boys’ suits, boys’ shirts and trousers, girls’ dresses, girls’ trousers, girls’ capes, unisex clothing items, as well as various accessories such as ties, bows, shoes and booties – all categorized according to size and age. Apart from having affordable prices and an extensive offer, children’s clothing online stores also allow customers to purchase their desired products online, thus helping them save time and effort.

Spending money on children’s clothing can get rather expensive. This is primarily due to the fact that children are in a phase of their life where they grow and change sizes often. Child growth is apart of life and finding clothes that fit your children must be done. Clothing that isn’t brand name is usually less expensive than their brand name counter parts. The style, design and overall look are normally the same but the quality may not be. This isn’t always the case but normally it is. In many cases the only difference between the two is the label attached to the clothing. Thrift stores provide an endless supply of children’s clothes that may even be brand new.

The clothes are donated to local thrift stores and the clothes are then sold. Since the proceeds go to charity, thrift stores often have extremely low prices listed for the clothes. A pre-requisite for selling the clothes back to the public is that they be cleaned first. You should never fear buying clothes from thrift stores due to a perception of soiled clothing. Another good place to look for children’s clothing is the sales rack at department stores. It’s not hard to find savings up to seventy percent off or more on department store floors. Sometimes items just won’t sell at the suggested manufactures price so store sell them at discounted rates.
This may be a great opportunity for you to purchase fifty dollar jeans for ten. Huge discounts are available for damaged goods clothing and irregular sized items. If a truck carrying clothes gets into an accident and catches fire, chances are the damaged and non damaged goods may be resold. In any event the price will be less than normal even if there in no visible damage to the clothes. Even if a button hasn’t been sown onto a shirt properly, the item will be sold for less instead of being discarded. Some stores only sell irregular and damaged goods from brand names at a fraction of the cost.

If someone has just out grown all of their size six clothes and is selling them, you could buy an entire wardrobe cheaply. Overnight you would have bought hundreds of articles of clothes eliminating the need to cash in on store discounts. Buy one get one free and buy one get one half off can play a role in the amount of cash you spend. These kinds of deals should be taken advantage of. There is no reason that all clothing must all be bought at once at the same place. Taking advantage of several sales throughout the summer is the best way to get prepared for going back to school. Don’t wait until the rush where everything is sold out of the store. Make school shopping a year round event and your children’s clothing won’t be an issue this year.

Your baby will need number of newborn clothing and linen items. Hence it is very important that you prepare yourself in advance for everything. Remember that new born grow very fast. Hence the clothes you will buy for them will quite likely have a very short life. So always buy two to five months older clothing. Here are some tips which will help you to make right choices for your baby.

Things to keep in mind while buying Always buy enough clothes for you’re newly born to cover the three clothing changes in a day. Always opt for soft material, which are comfortable to wear and remove. Buy durable material, which is washable and long-lived. Buy baby clothes, which are durable else just one wash, would make them useless to wear. Always go for elastic waistbands and trousers. They are more comfortable for toddlers and easily adjustable. Try buying loose clothes they give plenty of room for a child to move his legs, such as leggings and sweats. Buy shapeless heels socks as they grow with your child. Avoid buying patterned socks, as the loose yarn from inside can catch in your baby’s toes.
